Garnero is featured in the ten years anniversary of the 'Letter to the Brazilian people'
Brasilinvest Group led the approach between the Labor Party (PT) and the White House and dismantled the 'lulometro'
SAO PAULO, July 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Mario Garnero, Chairman of the Board of the Brasilinvest Group, is figurehead in the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the publication of the "Letter to the Brazilian people". The document, released by the Labor Party (PT) ten years ago, tranquilized the markets, ensured credibility to Lula and paved his victory in the presidential elections of 2002.
In a special report published by Brasil Economico last Friday, July 13, the newspaper highlighted the fundamental role of Mario Garnero and his proficiency in the episode. "One of the scenarios hinge for the preparation of the document was the headquarters of Brasilinvest in Sao Paulo," says the report.
In fact, Mario Garnero was the main bridge between PT and the North American key interlocutors in this process, especially the U.S. Government. Garnero, who was invited to help in this approach by PT, organized a series of mailings and visits between the Brazilian interlocutors and U.S. Government authorities, culminating in direct negotiations with the White House.
The newspaper edition also brings a copy of the letter from Mario Garnero to President George Bush, which sent a few days before the elections that decided an important chapter in the Brazilian history.
