Hennessy Enlists Automotive Legend To Drive Redesign Of Privilege Bottle Former BMW Design Chief Chris Bangle Modernizes the Curves of Iconic Hennessy Privilege Bottle
NEW YORK, May 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In celebration of innovation, Hennessy commissioned legendary automotive artist Chris Bangle to modernize a signature member of the Cognac family. Hennessy, the world's number one selling Cognac, recently unveiled the redesign of the Privilege bottle at an exclusive affair in downtown Los Angeles. The redesign is the bottle's first significant alteration since 1954.
Hennessy selected Chris Bangle (of Fiat and BMW fame) to guide the redesign because of his vast industrial design experience and his talent to artistically incorporate the product's exceptional history while opening doors to the future. Chris brought his daring and novel style to the emblematic Privilege bottle, accentuating its curves, restructuring the pedestal base, and adding refined touches to the main label.
"Chris did beautiful work with the redesign of the Hennessy Privilege bottle," said Rodney Williams, Senior VP, Hennessy. "It is a fresh adaptation that features a thoughtful nod to Privilege's unique history and characteristics, while also celebrating the innovation that has become part of the DNA of the Hennessy brand."
"It is an experience of unique inspiration that drives the evolution of design, whether for BMW, Rolls Royce, or Hennessy," added Chris Bangle. "It was an absolute honor to design for a brand with such tremendous heritage and innovative courage."
While the bottle has experienced a transformative update, the contents of the award-winning Cognac remain the same. Hennessy Privilege blends eaux-de-vie from the four best growing areas of the Cognac region to create the perfect balance of strength and smoothness. Hennessy Privilege can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in a creative mixed drink.
Hennessy Privilege retails for $45.99-$49.99 (750 ml) and is currently available at fine retailers nationwide.
Hennessy is imported and distributed in the U.S. by Moet Hennessy USA, Inc. and is produced by Jas Hennessy & Co., a subsidiary of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton S.A. Hennessy distills, ages and blends a full range of marques, including Hennessy V.S, Privilege V.S.O.P, Hennessy Black, X.O, Paradis and Richard Hennessy.
