The website that provides hockey players with training information, including training tips and workout programs to follow, purchased the domain HockeyTraining.com in December in a re-branding effort to become a household name for hockey players McClelland said.
The team at HockeyTraining.com includes popular strength and conditioning coach, Dan Garner, from London, Ontario who is in charge of program design for the hockey training programs provided on the website. Garner stated that their main goals for 2015 include publishing in-depth weekly hockey training blog posts at the new website, and providing the best online resource for hockey training programs.
Garner's recent move to join the Canadian Center for Strength and Conditioning in Airdrie, Alberta has given him more tools to help hockey players improve their game on the ice, as he is working along side two-time Olympian Andre Benoit. Benoit has been the strength coach for many Canadian national teams, and has trained many professional athletes in the NFL, NHL and CFL.
McClelland stated that besides focusing on "off ice" training, like they have in the past, they will also begin offering "on ice" training information and advice as well. This will include drills and training methods to help hockey players with their stickhandling, passing, and shooting.
The team at Hockey Training will continue to upload videos to their popular YouTube channel under their updated branded Hockey Training channel. This will include exercises demonstrations, hockey training tips, and nutritional information for athletes. They will also provide hockey training programs for the off-season, in-season, and for men's league hockey players.
