Icontrol Networks Expands Global Presence, Launches Smart Home Deployment in Asia
Partners with Tokyu Group's iTSCOM cable to bring first Icontrol-powered home solution to Japan
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Oct. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Icontrol Networks, a leader in connected home technology and innovation, announced today it will partner with iTSCOM, a premier cable provider in Japan and a division of the Tokyu Group, to bring the Icontrol Touchstone™ solution to Asia. iTSCOM will resell a managed Touchstone service, which offers a smart home experience that consumers can install themselves, to Japanese cable operators.
"Our partnership with Tokyu Group's iTSCOM is a critical step in our strategic approach to international expansion," said Bob Hagerty, Icontrol's CEO. "The Internet of Things is one of the fastest growing segments of the already robust technology industry in Asia. The market opportunity for the smart home in the Asia-Pacific region is significant, so we are excited to continue growing in that area."
Icontrol Touchstone provides users with advanced home monitoring, automation, security and energy management. Since it can be assembled and installed by the end-user, there is no need for a professionally-trained technician. The solution allows users to:
- Stay connected to their homes via live video feed and event-driven video capture from in-home cameras, enabling users to see what's happening while they're away
- Remotely control and manage their homes via smartphones and other mobile devices
- Personalize their systems by scheduling automated alerts – for example, to confirm when the kids arrive home from school – to receive real-time text notifications with photos and video
The partnership with iTSCOM continues Icontrol's global expansion momentum and solidifies the company as a world leader in home automation. Icontrol's platform, which is now available in the U.S., Canada, Japan and parts of Europe, manages more than 22 million sensors and devices, representing the most widely-used connected home platform in the industry. Last year alone, more than 66 billion events, alerts, and commands were collected, processed, and made accessible by Icontrol platforms.
