Will Sen. Reid Accept Checks from Iman Feisal Rauf, Sharif El-Gamal and other Ground Zero Mosque Advocates?

LAS VEGAS, Aug. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Upon learning that New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg  planned to host a fundraiser on Monday, September 20 for Sen. Harry Reid, Danny Tarkanian, the chairman of 1001 Reasons to Vote Against Harry Reid, remarked, "This is an extremely troubling development that raises more questions about that vast discrepancy between Sen. Reid's words and actions."

"It is naive to believe that Mayor Bloomberg would host a $10,000 per sponsor event in his home for Sen. Reid for any reason other than to ingratiate himself politically.  That, in itself is cynical and sickening.  However, Nevadans should be more alarmed by the fact that Mayor Bloomberg is the Ground Zero Mosque's most passionate defender, despite the strong opposition of most New Yorkers and an overwhelming majority of Americans.  Sen. Reid claimed that he opposed building the mosque so close to Ground Zero's hallowed ground, but now he's willing to take money from the Mayor who defends it.

"In light of that, I'm worried about who will be attending and writing big checks to Sen. Reid at this New York fundraiser.  Nevadans need to ask Sen. Reid if he will take a check from mosque effort leaders Iman Feisal Rauf, mysterious real estate developer Sharif El-Gamal, racketeering investigation target Hisham Elzanaty or any pro-Hamas members of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
