Inovalon Announces Charitable Giving for 2014

BOWIE, Md., Dec. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Inovalon Holdings, Inc., a leading technology company providing advanced analytics and data-driven intervention platforms to the healthcare industry, today announced the list of organizations supported through its charitable contributions during 2014. This list includes both local and national organizations focused on health and human services charities.

Since its origins in 1998, Inovalon has been committed to Corporate Philanthropy initiatives. The diverse charitable giving list for 2014 included contributions to support more than 20 local and national charities focused on providing medical research, health community outreach and education, as well as human services charities that provide services to those in need.

• A Bigger Picture, Inc.: Making a lasting difference in the lives of girls in Washington, D.C. and Maryland (grades 7-10) through mentorship, education and comprehensive workshops, thereby exposing them to new experiences through enrichment activities, community service projects, and travel opportunities.
• American Heart Association: Sponsorship to support South Carolina's Midlands Go for Red Women Luncheon. Go Red for Women is the American Heart Association's national campaign to increase awareness for heart disease and challenge women to take action to reduce their personal risk.
• Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) Foundation: Providing and improving access to medical care outside the walls of the hospital in a sensitive environment to enhance the health of the uninsured and underserved residents of Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
• Autism Speaks: The world's leading autism science and advocacy organization dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
• Azalea Charities: Providing help for service people and the families who stand behind them through Aid for Wounded Warriors. Support is adapted to the need – ranging from financial support in the form of mortgage and rent payments, utility payments, gas and retail gift cards, and services such as training of service dogs and provision of services to caregiving families. Azalea provides day-to-day support for these heroes in ways that address their lifetime needs.
• Blessings in a Backpack - Grand Ledge: A Grand Ledge, Michigan community effort in partnership with the national Blessings in a Backpack organization provides weekend food survival backpacks to at-risk children in the Grand Ledge School District during the school year.
• Bowie Health Center: Providing health screenings, consultations, lectures and health education to the Bowie, Maryland, community.
• Box of Rain: A program that inspires and encourages Annapolis, Maryland-area youths, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to gain self-esteem and to develop life skills that lead to positive contributions to the Anne Arundel County community in Maryland.
• Gateway Community Services: Providing street outreach, counseling, shelter, independent living skills instruction, crisis intervention, and advocacy services to runaway and homeless youths and their families throughout Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties. Core programs are housed at the Kevin J. Moody Youth Home located in southwest Lansing, Michigan.
• Ele's Place: A community-based organization with a mission to create awareness of and support for grieving children and their families throughout Lansing and Ann Arbor, Michigan.
• Geisinger Health Systems Foundation: The Auxiliary at Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) in Danville, Pennsylvania, hosted a 2014 "Lighting Up Tomorrow Gala" to raise funds for the purchase of medical systems and devices and to support the center's programs.
• Girl Scouts of Central Maryland: Ensuring that all girls—regardless of ability, ethnicity, income or circumstance—have the opportunity to develop leadership skills that allow them to make a difference in their schools, communities and the world.
