Jodi Roth Joins Retail Alliance, Virginia Retail Federation
NORFOLK, Va., Dec. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Jodi Roth, a government affairs consultant, has joined the Hampton Roads Retail Alliance and the statewide Virginia Retail Federation (VRF) as a contract representative for the associations' statewide retail members. Ms. Roth brings over 15 years of government affairs experience to the organizations. She joins the VRF lobbying team of Mary Huffard Kegley, Kate Baker, Margaret Ballard, Nancy Thomas and Ray Mattes.
She has worked primarily at the Virginia General Assembly and the Virginia executive branch on behalf of Davis Consultants representing major corporations such as Altria, HBO, Sprint and Alpha Natural Resources. During the past three years, she worked at the Virginia Retail Merchants Association (VRMA), building a statewide coalition of national retailers with locations in Virginia. She has also represented the retailers' interests at the federal level on issues such as the Marketplace Fairness Act, legislation in the House Judiciary Committee, which would give states the option to collect sales tax from Internet retailers.
In addition, her experience includes media relations, message development and PAC development. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.

VRF announced the addition of several new national members including Target Corp., Wal-mart Stores, Inc., The Home Depot, McDonald's and Walgreens. According to Mattes, these retailers bring over 388 storefronts to the associations' membership base of approximately 1,900 retailers. These retailers also employ over 60,000 Virginians.
