Background:
This forum is to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the publishing of Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and to discuss its impact on China and world affairs.
The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party (or Nine Commentaries, http://goo.gl/rN62Lm) speaks honestly about the brutality and deception of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). It immediately caught the attention of Chinese people around the globe and ignited a grassroots movement of Chinese citizens renouncing their membership in the Party and its affiliated organizations. This movement is referred to, in Chinese, as "Tuidang," which means "Quitting the Party."
Since December 2004, the number of Chinese people posting their withdrawal statements and cutting their ties with the CCP and its affiliated organizations has risen to more than 100,000 daily, with over 185 million Chinese renouncing their Party membership to date.
Credited by Congressman Chris Smith as one of the largest grassroots movement in history, Tuidang is rapidly changing China, rebuilding a foundation of credibility. Like the Exodus of the Jews from Egypt, Tuidang is not a political movement, rather a spiritual solution and a moral choice of individuals.
The Epoch Times and the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP are the co-sponsors of the forum. Speakers will share their views on various aspects of China affairs and U.S.-Sino relations, particularly during the past decade, the present, and what they believe the future holds.
