Lopez Negrete Communications Awarded Tenth Consecutive "Best of Show" at American Advertising Federation 52nd Annual American Advertising Awards Show in Houston
HOUSTON, Feb. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lopez Negrete Communications, Inc., the nation's largest independent, Hispanic owned and operated, full-service agency specializing in Hispanic marketing, celebrated yet another tour de force at the American Advertising Federation's 52nd Annual American Advertising Awards, earning Best of Show honors for a tenth consecutive year.
It was for the collection of television spots created for client Samsung that Lopez Negrete collected this year's Best of Show for Broadcast award, the highest honor awarded at the American Advertising Awards. The imaginative creative that drives these commercials transports the viewer into a traditional Hispanic family setting where Samsung's Galaxy S 4 proves that "The Next Big Thing Is Here." The "Discada," "Haunted," "Glad To Meet You," and "Barter" spots depict a Hispanic couple celebrating a northern Mexico style barbecue in their backyard with their large extended family. In "Discada" we see their daughter arrive with her non-Latino boyfriend, and the interaction between the young couple and her parents. The boyfriend is nervous to meet the family because he does not speak Spanish. The highlight of the commercial is reached when he pulls out his handy Samsung Galaxy S 4 smartphone and quickly uses the S Translator feature on the device to find the Spanish translation for a greeting. We then see other members of the family using various features of the Galaxy S 4 to answer their phone, control their television set, and capture memorable moments without missing a beat from the birthday celebration. Before the end of the spot, the jealous father uses the Eraser Shot feature of the Galaxy S 4 to remove his daughter's boyfriend from the group picture of his family.
"Today, in the palm of our hands, technology is constantly revolutionizing the way we experience the world around us," said Fernando Osuna, chief creative officer of Lopez Negrete Communications. "By effectively conveying that message of technological brilliance and innovation and the one-of-a-kind benefits that evolution brings to the customer, we have built a powerful brand message for our client. Our Samsung creative team has been extremely successful in delivering concise, distinguished work that includes a reality Hispanic consumers can relate to."
