Conference Boasts Leading Politicians, Top CEOS and Media Notables

N. BETHESDA, Md., Aug. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The 12th Annual Maryland Hispanic Business Conference (MDHBC) is unabashedly promoting this year's impressive line-up of keynote speakers and seminar panelists, who will be featured at the September 3rd event at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center.

"This year we hit it out of the park!" exclaimed MDHBC founder, Bill Villanueva, who points to a heady mix of heavy hitters that includes high-profile political leaders, and some of the area's most respected CEOs and media mavens.

"Our attendees will really get the benefit of hearing from an array of successful and influential business owners and executives, government officials and media managers and journalists," says Villanueva.   "From U.S. Senator Ben Cardin who has been on the forefront of pushing immigration reform, to Theresa Alfaro Daytner, a mother of six running a 7-figure a year construction company, to this year's fantastic emcee, Alejandro Negron – a well-known and very popular journalist and multi-media personality.   We've covered all the basics that impact the Hispanic business community by featuring our top political advocates, some of the best minds in the business world, and the media – the people who keep us informed and help tell our stories."

The speakers – This year's keynote speakers are all head turners.  The morning kicks off with powerful politicos including U.S. Senator Ben Cardin, Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett  and Howard County Executive Ken Ulman, followed by Kaiser Permanente's VP of Strategic Business Development, Geb Buchness.

The afternoon session, which follows the long-awaited Hispanic Heritage Awards presentation, opens with one of the Hispanic business community's staunchest allies, Montgomery County Council President Nancy Navarro.  Next the spotlight shines on three highly successful business executives: the Honorable Nelson A. Diaz, a former judge and practicing partner with Dilsworth Paxon attorneys at law, who sits on the board of directors of Exelon Corporation and Jerry Johnson, GM and CEO of Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.  The session closes with the woman Fortune Magazine named one of the 10 Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs, Theresa Alfaro Daytner, CEO of Daytner Construction Group

The Seminars - In addition to an impressive list of keynote speakers, the conference is known for its seminars, which focus on issues important to business owners and executives.  Each panel features an array of experts such as Nicole Quiroga, General Manager of Telemundo/DC and Maritza Lizama, Audience Development Director for the Washington Business Journal, both participating in the (How to) Reach & Sell to the Hispanic Market seminar.  Exporting & Importing in the Western Hemisphere, An Update to Small Business Financing and Smarter Human Resources Training are just a few of the hour-long seminar topics offered at this year's event.

Networking - The conference closes after a three-hour long Networking Happy "Hour" featuring a welcome from the MDHBC President, sponsor and volunteer recognition and in keeping with the unique Latin flavor, live entertainment from Bachata V.I.P., dancing and between the live sets, more dancing, courtesy of DJ809.
