Morningstar Launches iPad Apps for Mutual Fund and ETF Newsletters, Now Offers Mobile Access for Entire Suite of Investing Newsletters
CHICAGO, Dec. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Morningstar, Inc. (NASDAQ: MORN), a leading provider of independent investment research, has launched FundInvestor and ETFInvestor, both for iPad, for its mutual fund and ETF newsletters. The apps, which follow the launch of stock-and dividend-focused newsletter apps earlier this year, are designed to help individual investors interact with Morningstar's proprietary ratings, portfolio strategies, and investment research in a new way.
The two newest iPad apps for Morningstar® FundInvestorSM, edited by Russel Kinnel, and Morningstar® ETFInvestorSM, edited by Samuel Lee, connect the publications' investment ideas with current data and analyst reports through the hands-on experience of iPad. Like the apps launched earlier this year for its StockInvestor and DividendInvestor newsletters, edited by Matt Coffina and Josh Peters, respectively, the fund apps also offer immediate notification of holdings-related news and availability of new issues, an issue library for quick viewing and offline reading, and the ability to change the screen orientation and bookmark or organize articles for future reference.
"We live in a mobile-centric world, and we're pleased to offer an iPad-optimized experience to subscribers of our investing newsletters, helping them tap into timely data and editor insights wherever they are, in an interactive environment," James McClamroch, head of individual investor solutions for Morningstar, said. "Nearly all of our StockInvestor subscribers who own an iPad have downloaded that app, and based on demand from subscribers of our fund newsletters, we expect them to be similarly engaged. The new apps help individuals select superior investments for their needs and monitor them in a new way, better positioning them to meet their financial goals. We look forward to continuing to innovate on behalf of individual investors."
The FundInvestor, ETFInvestor, StockInvestor, and DividendInvestor apps are available for free on the App Store for iPad or at www.AppStore.com. Non-subscribers can purchase a monthly or annual subscription to the newsletters through an In-App Purchase. Morningstar also offers Morningstar® for iPad® as well as mobile apps for iPhone, iPod touch, and Android users to help investors monitor the markets, track their portfolios, and research investments using Morningstar data and analysis. The apps' tools and market data are available to all registered users at no charge, and the apps are free from the App Store. Current Morningstar.com Premium Members can access analyst research and other premium features in the apps for no additional charge.
Morningstar's newsletters provide investors with exclusive recommendations backed by the firm's 100 manager research analysts and 120 equity and corporate credit analysts globally. For more information about Morningstar newsletters, please visit http://www.morningstar.com/products/newsletters.html.
