National American University Holdings Analyst Report: Recent Earnings Announcement Could Provide Catalyst by Small Cap Traders
NEW YORK, Oct. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ - Analyst Report by Small Cap Traders. National American University Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: NAUH) was founded in 1941 and is headquartered in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Financial and Operational Highlights from Recent Earnings Release:
- Enrollment by headcount decreased 7.6% over the prior-year period to 9,930 students as of August 31, 2014.
- FY 2015 first quarter total revenue was $29.3 million, compared to $30.9 million in the prior-year period. The Company's academic segment's revenue was $28.6 million in the FY 2015 first quarter, compared to $30.4 million in the prior-year period.
- FY 2015 first quarter net income attributable to the Company was $2.2 million, compared to a net loss of $329,000 in the prior-year period. The improvement was largely due to lower operating expenses during the quarter.
- The Board of Directors declared a cash dividend in the amount of $0.045 per share on all shares of the Company's common stock outstanding and of record as of the close of business on September 30, 2014, which will be paid on or about October 10, 2014.
The Company has been through a difficult fundamental stress with both of its major segments being pressured by macro conditions and general economic weakness. There appears to have been several metrics that moderated, generally satisfying the street. The balance sheet has adequate strength to maintain the dividend and allow strategy adjustments to occur. The pace of change here could be about to accelerate and with a very long base in and a possible capitulation selloff it is time to get ready to trade the upside.
