New NaVia Street Parking App Seeks Funds to Help Drivers Find Free Parking
Donations now being accepted on IndieGoGo.
ATHENS, Greece, Dec. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- NaVia is a mobile application that is using a patent pending technology in order to be able to spot which parking spaces are available for drivers in real time (available on Apple and Google Play Store).
NaVia is able to find:
- free
- nearby
- on-street
- vacant parking spaces
- in real time
According to recent statistics, 90% of car owners do not own parking space and 30% of urban traffic is caused by drivers looking for a parking space. NaVia Team (www.facebook.com/NaViaStreetParking) aspires to solve the problem that none of the urban cities have yet managed to solve when the app reaches the estimated number of users.
The members of the team have been educated in different countries and have been confronted with different parking regimes, having always in mind all the bad impacts of searching for a parking space. By combining their knowledge, they have created an algorithm that collects data from users' interaction with NaVia which is then able to filter down all vacant parking spaces. Thus, by using the app the users themselves are becoming an integral part of a project that is useful to everyone, saves time and resources and reduces air pollution.
It is common knowledge that Governments around the world are willing to spend millions of dollars in order to successfully deal with on-street parking management. According to the NaVia Team, these amounts are better spent on education and environmental protection as they allege on-street parking management not to be an issue any more.
Looking on the balance sheet of the project, NaVia Team explains that as a new-born project, NaVia needs proper nutrition and care to grow up. In business terms, nutrition and care are translated into IT, Legal and Marketing needs. It is estimated that $100,000 are necessary to cover these needs. This figure is further explained below:
- IT: $30,000 will go towards maintaining, supporting and updating the development part of the App.
- Legal: $40,000 will go towards setting up a legal entity that is able to handle contracting and IP needs.
- Marketing: $30,000 will go towards spreading the word of NaVia and customer satisfaction.
If the entire goal will not be reached, any funds raised will still go towards satisfaction of these needs.
For the sake of transparency, NaVia has indeed a revenue producing technique in place. This will be affected by the use of in-app advertising but viability of the project is a concern till some revenue is produced. For this reason donations are now being accepted on IndieGoGo (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/street-parking-app). As a sign of gratitude to donators a free-of-advertisement version of the App will be provided to them.
