Northrop Grumman's Chris Hernandez Named 'Engineer of the Year' at HENAAC Conference Recognizing the Top Hispanic Engineers and Scientists
FALLS CHURCH, Va., Oct. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) employee Chris Hernandez was honored last Friday as the Engineer of the Year at the 25th anniversary HENAAC conference put on by Great Minds in STEM™. The conference recognizes the best and brightest science, technology, engineering, and math professionals on a national level who serve as role models to inspire young people to pursue technical careers with a focus on the Hispanic community.

Hernandez was honored for meeting the demands of today's rapidly advancing technology and dynamic economic environment and mastering the art of managing multi-skilled teams to solve complex technical and business problems.
Hernandez is the vice president of Advanced Systems for Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems. He is responsible for future programs such as next generation air dominance fighters, advanced weapons and future cargo/transport systems. Previously he was vice president of Engineering and Programs supporting aircraft programs such as Global Hawk, Fire Scout, B-2, F/A-18, F-35, E-2 and Joint STARS. He has also served as chief technology officer for Aerospace Systems.
He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from California State University, Long Beach and a master's degree in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan Fellows program. Hernandez is on the board of directors of the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation and is active with the Boy Scouts of America.
