ONEHOPE Foundation Announces Giving Tuesday IndieGoGo Campaign To Create More Businesses That Give Back
World's First Social Impact Foundation Seeks $50,000 in Funding for Tech Platform That Will Provide a Projected $2.5 Million in Donations To Those In Need
LOS ANGELES, Dec. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ONEHOPE Foundation, the world's first social impact foundation, launched today its first-ever crowd-funding campaign. As a part of Giving Tuesday, the campaign aims to raise $50,000 for its Social Impact As a Service (SIAS) program – a turnkey program that makes it easy for businesses to give back to worthy causes, while also increasing sales, customer satisfaction, and the impact of corporate donations. The funds will go towards the development of a technology platform that will automate the impact quantification and amplify the reach of SIAS, allowing the program to work with hundreds more businesses and create a projected $2.5 million in additional donations to those in need.
"If you've ever purchased from TOMS, Warby Parker, ONEHOPE, Soapbox Soaps, Boll & Branch, or KivaSun, you understand that everyday purchases can have the power to make a difference," said Melissa Lake, Executive Director of ONEHOPE Foundation. "Our goal is to inspire every business to join this movement and give a portion of their profits to charity. Giving back not only makes good business sense – 94% percent of consumers would prefer to purchase from a brand that supports a cause – it also has the power to solve some of the world's biggest challenges."
If every Fortune 500 company donated just 1% of its revenue from 2013, all of the following could be achieved:
- Provide access to clean drinking water to every person who does not currently have access for life
- Eradicate polio, malaria, and all seven Neglected Tropical Diseases
- Feed every person without access to food for one year
- Educate every child without access to schooling for one year
- Plant 1 billion trees
- Protect all of the world's oceans
- End homelessness in the US
- …and save over 7.7 million lives in doing so.
There are currently 12 SIAS companies who have collectively donated over $1.5 million to over 200 charities thus far.
"Working with the ONEHOPE Foundation allows for organizations to bring a meaningful mission to the core of their business," said David Simnick, Founder & CEO of Soapbox Soaps. "Working with the ONEHOPE Foundation since 2010 has made it easy for us to provide over 4907 people with access to clean drinking water, and we are looking forward to continuing to do so long into the future."
The fundraising campaign went live today on its Indiegogo site for Giving Tuesday. For more information on ONEHOPE Foundation please visit www.onehopefoundation.org.
