Pacesetter Steel Service Walks For A Cure

KENNESAW, Ga., Oct. 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On October 17-19, Pacesetter's Big Ol' Shanty's walked 60 miles over 3 days, for its second time, raising $50,000 to fund national breast cancer research and for testing and treatments for uninsured and underinsured Atlanta area cancer patients. 

Aviva Leebow, CEO started the 3-Day team in 2013. While her grandmother was her original inspiration, Aviva mentions a number of other loved ones, including fellow Pacesetter associates who have been lost to cancer.  Pacesetter supported the team through numerous fundraisers, monetary donations and lots of encouragement.

"Participating in the event is truly inspirational," stated Aviva.  "While you are walking, you meet survivors and hear their stories.  Women and men whose lives were saved because others walked years prior. You see and feel the impact of each step."  The Atlanta Komen 3-day raised over $3.2 million in 2014.
