SimulTV Streams Live from Tokyo International Film Festival
SELMA, Va., Oct. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In recognition of its cutting-edge ability to live stream and showcase events on a worldwide basis, SimulTV has been named as the first live broadcaster for the upcoming Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF). This marks the first time the event has been streamed live to the U.S. and outside of Japan.

Running from October 23 through 31, TIFF is one of the largest international film festivals in Asia. SimulTV will utilize the latest in technology to enable viewers to enjoy live streaming of TIFF events on any mobile or internet-connected device worldwide. Highlights of the eight day viewing schedule include the Opening Ceremony and the world premiere of the animation feature, Big Hero 6, at 6:30 p.m. JST on Thursday, October 23.
Another Festival highlight which SimulTV will live stream is the Samurai Award Special Talk Session, featuring Takeshi Kitano on Saturday, October 25 at 3:00 p.m. JST. Kitano, one of Japan's most prominent film directors, will discuss the theme of "Now and the Future of Japanese Movies." The streaming will culminate with live coverage of the Award Ceremony on Friday, October 31 at 5:00 p.m. JST, and the announcement of the Grand Prix Award-Winning Film.
