SRSANDCO Owners Donate 1,000 Acres To Southeastern Trust For Parks And Land - Preserving Public Parks In America
MARIETTA, Ga., Dec. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Southeastern Trust for Parks and Land (STPL) and Sherri and Greg Sands, Owners of SRSANDCO, announce the creation of new public parks in South Fulton County, Georgia and Caldwell County, North Carolina. The Sands, advocators for preserving the environment, have significant interests in partnerships that are donating property to the land trust, thereby increasing the parks value to more than $4 million.
Campbellton Creek Trail Park is 81 acres in South Fulton County, Georgia. "The area is badly underserved by park lands," reports Bill Jones, Executive Director of STPL.
"While plans for the park are incomplete, the generosity of conservation heroes like Sherri and Greg make such conservation possible," said Jones.
Little Beaver Creek is an impressively large 928-acre property in western North Carolina. The Sands and STPL are working to facilitate the conservation of this property in cooperation with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture. North Carolina Department of Agriculture spokesperson, Todd Wahler reports that the state wants this asset for use in its Research Stations unit.
"Regrettably, the state cannot move quickly enough to accommodate the Sands' offer to complete the donation this year. STPL has agreed to take the donation and then facilitate a transfer to the Department of Agriculture as soon as possible," says Wahler.
In both instances, land in Georgia and in North Carolina is being donated by the Sands to accomplish worthy conservation objectives.
"Such generosity is rare in this day and time," according to STPL's Jones.
SRSANDCO is the parent company of multiple auto repair brands. SRSANDCO also owns and operates Mudlick Mail, a national direct marketing company based in Acworth, GA.
"Since we've been blessed to receive ongoing support from the communities we serve for more than 23 years, Sherri and I are elated to give back in a meaningful way. My family loves the outdoors, so we wanted to contribute something to the families living in these surrounding communities to enjoy for years to come," said Greg Sands.
The Sands' fastest growing business is Mudlick Mail. The direct marketing company specializes in direct mail, a paper consuming business.
"As Greg and I build our business brands, we want to ensure we remain cognizant of how our business processes and operational output impact people and the environment," said Sherri Sands.
The large land donation will expand park space and preserve nature for more than 513,000 citizens of South Fulton County, Georgia and 83,000 citizens in the Western region of North Carolina.
