Standard Pacific Homes Introduces New Designs For 55+ Age Range In Rancho Mission Viejo's Master-Planned Community Of Sendero New homes are among the first at Rancho Mission Viejo's newest master-planned community set to open this weekend
RANCHO MISSION VIEJO, Calif., June 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Standard Pacific Homes, one of the nation's leaders in homebuilding quality, today announced plans to introduce two new communities designed for the 55+ age range within Sendero, the first village to be developed on The Ranch master-planned community of Rancho Mission Viejo. The two new Standard Pacific Homes communities are situated within the gated enclave of Gavilan designed for home shoppers in the 55 and older age range. The homes feature single-story living and innovative design details all within the prestigious master-planned community taking shape in South Orange County. Dubbed Standard Pacific Casitas and Standard Pacific Bungalows, the new communities will debut at a grand opening celebration Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.
"The grand opening of Standard Pacific Casitas and Standard Pacific Bungalows at Rancho Mission Viejo marks an important milestone for the Company as we unveil our all new, single-story floor plans designed specifically for the 55+ age range," said Ted McKibbin, Southern California Coastal President for Standard Pacific Homes. "We put a great deal of thought into creating homes that meet the needs of buyers looking for a lock and leave lifestyle. The new architectural features paired with the exquisite community amenities offer an active, resort-style atmosphere and the ideal place to call home."
The impressive fleet of new single-story designs incorporates Great Room-centered floor plans that emphasize gourmet kitchens, covered outdoor living spaces, luxurious master suites with walk-in closets and spacious private baths. An abundance of storage space is strategically located throughout the home. Lofts create an elegant retreat and may be used as an ideal home office or hobby room. Standard Pacific Homes incorporated San Juan Capistrano's Spanish heritage and modern architectural influences to create a vibrant array of exterior styles including Spanish, Monterey and Western Ranch.
Standard Pacific Casitas offer five design styles to choose from and range from 1,624 to 2,059 square feet of space and contain up to 3 bedrooms plus a loft and 2.5 baths. All of the homes are detached and include an outdoor courtyard. Standard Pacific Bungalows feature four different designs that range from 1,276 to 1,692 square feet and contain up to 3 bedrooms plus a loft and 2 baths. The Bungalows include both attached and detached homes.
The Ranch encompasses 23,000 acres where a working farm, fruit orchards, nature reserve and hiking and biking trails coexist within a village atmosphere. The community core is centered on a scenic combination of parks, clubhouses, a community center and recreational facilities. Residents will have access to amenities and services such as the ability to work out, lounge poolside, get a massage, sign up for boot camp, practice chipping, or take in a concert just steps from their front doors.

Sendero is the first village to be developed on the new ranch community of Rancho Mission Viejo, a 23,000-acre family-owned working ranch situated in the heart of South Orange County. Approximately 25% of The Ranch will be developed into multiple villages while 75% will be preserved as part of a larger habitat conservation area known as The Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo.
At build-out, Sendero is expected to offer a wide range of approximately 940 attached and detached homes (including about 285 primarily single-level homes within the gated 55+ enclave of Gavilan) as well as nearly 290 apartment units. Sendero features a centrally located community hall and two clubhouses, numerous neighborhood parks, the vegetable and fruit gardens of Sendero Farm, and hiking/biking trails designed to provide access from Sendero to portions of The Reserve and a network of County Regional hiking/biking trails. Planned for Sendero is a 15-acre community park, a 10-acre retail plaza, office space, and fire station.
Rancho Mission Viejo, owned by the O'Neill/Avery/Moiso family since 1882, is located just 2.3 miles from downtown San Juan Capistrano and five miles from San Clemente and Doheny State Beach, with easy access provided to employment and retails centers in Ladera Ranch, Mission Viejo, Irvine, Rancho Santa Margarita and other Orange County areas.
