Stephanie Fohn Takes Helm At Remotium
Seasoned start-up CEO hired to drive growth of mobile virtualization innovator
SAN MATEO, Calif., Dec. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Remotium, the innovation leader in mobile virtualization, today announced the appointment of Stephanie Fohn as president and CEO. Ms. Fohn replaces Remotium founder Sinan Eren, who will continue to drive product strategy and development at the company in the role of Chief Product Officer.
Ms. Fohn joins Remotium after her tenure as CEO of WhiteHat Security, which she grew from under $1 million in revenue to a leadership position in the application security market. Ms. Fohn has extensive expertise in fundraising, bringing new technologies to market, and delivering strong growth.
"We're excited to welcome Stephanie Fohn to the Remotium team," said Hiro Rio Maeda, managing director, Draper Nexus Ventures. "Stephanie has a track record that is hard to deny. With her combination of early stage start-up leadership experience and wide network of enterprise contacts, she is exactly the executive we need to expand upon Remotium's current market traction and take the company to the next level."
Ms. Fohn joins Remotium, winner of the "Most Innovative Company" award at RSA 2013, to position the company for dominance in the rapidly evolving mobile virtualization market. Remotium VMP® (Virtual Mobile Platform) solves the challenges of user experience, security, cost, and management that prevent many enterprises from successfully delivering corporate applications to users on mobile platforms.
"I am thrilled to join Remotium at this point in its development. Sinan and his team have created a product that is a generation beyond the competition, and makes secure enterprise mobility a reality," said Ms. Fohn. "Remotium represents the type of company that excites me the most: innovative technology, visionary founders, high-profile early customers, and an expanding market. With these fundamentals in place, we are well-positioned for growth."
Ms. Fohn was CEO of WhiteHat Security during a period of exceptional growth, expanding from 10 employees to over 300. Under her leadership, WhiteHat was recognized by Forbes as one of America's "Top 100 Most Promising Companies" in 2013, and by Gartner as a leader in the Magic Quadrant for Application Security Testing two years running. In 2013, Forbes recognized her as one of 11 women executives that have started "amazing companies," and she also received a Stevie Award for Woman of the Year in Technology.
Prior to WhiteHat, Ms. Fohn was president and chief operating officer of SecurityFocus (acquired by Symantec), and held executive positions at Tripwire and Pilot Network Services. Earlier in her career, she worked in growth-stage private equity. Ms. Fohn holds an M.S. degree in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and bachelor's degrees in business and psychology from the University of Washington.
