TARPON SPRINGS, Fla., Dec. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) today recognized White Cloud Electronic Cigarettes for "outstanding recycling in 2014," recycling over 72 percent of its solid waste.
A spokesperson for the DEP congratulated the team, stating that White Cloud was "helping to lead the way to our goal of 75 percent recycling by 2020."
At their new facility in Tarpon Springs, White Cloud employees are empowered to reuse or recycle. Paper recycling bins in each workspace, plastic recycling bins in the kitchen and a warehouse team dedicated to reusing or recycling boxes and other materials are just some of the efforts that made White Cloud worthy of the DEP honor.
Separate solid waste and recycling containers demonstrated to the DEP how much White Cloud is recycling, which led to the 72 percent recycling rate and recognition. "Everyone at White Cloud is truly honored by this award, and we are so proud that we exceeded the 50-percent requirement by so much," said administrator Patti Ray. "We are dedicated to seeing that number increase next year."
Additionally, White Cloud customers can recycle their e-cigarette batteries through a partnership the company has with Big Green Box recycling. Through this program, customers can recycle both the rechargeable Cirrus batteries and the batteries in the company's Fling disposable e-cigarettes.
